RESIDENCY DIDACTICS SCHEDULES DIRECTORY OPERATIONS RESEARCH SIM MED STUD
Advocate Christ Medical Center, Oak Lawn, Illinois
Chicago

Welcome to the Emergency Medicine Residency at Advocate Christ Medical Center, an affiliate program of the University of Illinois at Chicago.

The primary mission of our department is to provide state-of-the-art emergency care to our patients, delivered with compassion and respect. We value the diversity of our medical staff, our patients, and the communities we serve.

The 2 goals of the residency are (1) to provide great training and (2) to enjoy yourself while doing it. Established in 1977, our residency program has a long tradition of training superior emergency physicians, well prepared to practice in any environment.

Our ED is a high-volume, high-acuity Level I Trauma Center, offering an outstanding clinical experience for our residents. Our new high fidelity Simulation Center provides additional training in the management of unusual or complex clinical situations. Established in 1995, the Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship allows exceptional education in ultrasound applications at the bedside. Our research program gives our physicians the opportunity to translate clinical questions into research projects, and to present their results at national and international scientific assemblies.

The department's residents and faculty are close knit, believing, the better the faculty learns a resident's abilities, the faster the individual resident can master the art and science of Emergency Medicine. The camaraderie among the residents produce life-long friends. When our graduates reminisce about their residency experience, they say their training was filled with fond memories and amazing tales, all underscored by excellence.
