•Indication: to determine intra-compartmental pressures, and diagnose compartment syndrome
•Equipment: Stryker kit which includes transducer, 18G needle, saline filled syringe
•Technique: Assemble items as indicated by kit. Generally, transducer attaches to needle at 1 end and saline filled syringe at other. Small amount of saline injected thru to needle, then needle placed into compartment while holding transducer level, avoiding air entry into syringe. Pressure <10 normal, >30 requires fasciotomy to prevent muscle necrosis
•Complications: cell death, muscle necrosis, contractures
